Hello to all of you!
I know this is not a "train" subject, but I would like to show you what keeps me busy during summertime.
This is my second biggest passion after N scale trains, refurbishing old cars.
This is a tribute to my 1973 Plymouth FURY II that I have refurbished into an original RCMP police car of 1973.
1- Just bought my house, the car is ready for its complete tear down.
2- No engine, ready for sandblast.
3- Completely new engine components.
4- Final result before re-installation of the motor in the car that has been sandblasted and re-painted.
5- Re-assembly.
6- Ready for a test drive! 
7- Now, body work and paint job...
8- Car under new color...
9- Complete re-assembled car before its final touch, the front white doors.
10- Car has been completly painted.
Since then, the police red beacons have been installed.
It is also equipped with the proper radio, CB, siren...
I am currently working on the interior of the car.
I will post new pictures when ready.

At the annual CAR SHOW in Granby, Québec, my police car got the 36th TOP PICK of all the MOPAR cars that were there for the weekend.
It was anice recognition for all the work involved in such a project.
The fun part is that we were able to park 4 "C" body cars asside...
1970 Fury III, 1971 Chrysler 300, 1972 Chrysler New Yorker and my 1973 Fury II...

I know that the Montreal police had lights on the front right fender up until 1989...
I am sure of that because of a very tragic event that happened here, in the "belle province".
In 1989, at the univerty of Montreal, a man, which I will not name, enterred the school with a firearm.
Suddenly, he enterred some classes and divided the men from the women.
He has shot only women, killing 14...
One of the police officer who was rushed to the scene finally came to find is dead daughter! 
Since that was the most tragic event in Quebec's history, each year, on december 6, we pay a tribute to these women.
We always have pictures of 1989...
That is why I see the police cars of that past era with the light on the front right fender. |

very cool, seeing a car like that kinda reminds me of the blues brothers movies, although im to young to have had a car like that growing up, would have been fun to have one, nice work and good job

For the older ones, you might remember that some police cars had a light on the front right fender...

I am almost done with the interior to!
I've been working on the car all weekend long, which was a 3 days weekend!
All there is to do now are the 2 front doors panels and the last panel under the steering column.
I have to drill some holes for more police equipment and I'm done with the interior!  |

You can also see my other old cars in the driveway...
The golden one is a 1973 Ford Gran Torino.
I should be able to re-paint it next year... to much money invested on the police project this past year! 
The white car behind is a 1959 Pontiac Laurentian.
Now that is a great looking car, but is also quite a big project!
I will need to tear it down completly to re-do the body.
I want to do a "frame-off" to re-do the floors aswell as sandblasting and re-painting the frame...
Another time and $$$ consuming project to do!! |

YOU have all the fun part of it!!
What you see in these 12-15 pictures are in fact a small fraction of all the steps and the pictures taken from them.
I've been working (part time) on this project for more then 4 years!...
And still counting as there is more then 10 000$ invested in! 
A lot of N scale trains that is!! 
Like with our layouts, we do not count how many hours we spend on fixing and installing things the way we want them.
Adding 25$/hour, this car is now over 40 000$... which will never be close to worth that money!
Like N scaling, it is only a matter of having FUN doing it! |
