hello folks

all turnouts are installed ! had to replace another one but no big thing. yesterday i started wiring the frog and track feeders. that's easiest if the layout is powered on. beepbeepbeepbeep....wtf ?? there's a short somewhere. inspecting the track for any deraild engine or car or tools didn't solve the problem. after cutting out each dcc booster i found out that there's a short between booster districts "main 2" and "north yard". after that it was easy. at the north end there's a short switch-over between main 2b and the yard. this track should have been double insulted (both rails) but there was just one plastic rail joiner. so i ripped ot the track quickly. unfortunately this made two other plastic railjoiners jump of the rail at two turnouts. i had to install these two turnouts , align the rail joiners and reinstall them.

today i relaid that section of track and started ballasting. while letting the glue dry i ran the trains on my layout into the yard. there's still alot of room left for additional cars. guess it will hold approx 400 cars. not as much as i wanted but due to space constrains i couldn't build the yard bigger.

here are some pics of the yard partially filled.
