Hey Sandro, have you started to paint the VIA Rail RS10 in N scale yet?

I am almost done with the 2 I had!

Paint has been fixed, decals are applied.
I need to weather it a bit and finally dullcoat.

I am not sure if this engine was ''leased'' to VIA from CP because there are no classification numbers under the engine's number on the cab.
If it was, it did not last for long under VIA colors...

very nice so far. what paints did you use ?
i recently tested true-line-trains paint. surely some of the best paint i ever tried ! especially the via rail yellow.

TRUE, this is what I heard to!

The blue paint was BADGER. The first coat of yellow was also badger, but was a real mess (??) can't say why. I have re-done the yellow with another batch of yellow I had in old bottles of paint I bough years ago when I got the airbrush. The black on the roof and on the rear of the engine was also the rest of old stuff.
Some weathering should be able to cover the mess...
Not the best job I did, but not the worst.

Next time I will find TRUE-LINE paint, I will buy some and test it for myself.
For now, I can only count on the other people's experience...
I will test it myself and see the difference with Badger paint or even Floquil...

Not so bad for a result, but definately not the best I have done.

Summer is here, well, almost!

OH good idea!

I did not think of PWRS for paint, but that would save me the trip to Montreal just to see that maybe they do not have the paint in stock...

Dull coat has been applied on the RS10.

Probably re-assembly tomorrow.

The first one that will be dullcoated and seembled is for a friend at the club.
My personal engine will be weathered before any dullcoating!!

YES, I would appreciate that!

I have booked my self in for the TRAIN & TULIPS show in Ottawa during the long weekend of May 20-21-22 and 23.

It should be a fun weekend as there will be many clinicians of all sorts. I've been asked to do my asphalt technique to in a clinic.

Ottawa is a great city to visit in May because of all the tulips growing around the Parliament.
I will bring the family for a great weekend of tulips... and trains!
