work continued on a few es44ac. numberboards, cab numbers and a lot of warning stickers have been applied to several units already. also handrails have been painted. approx 300 more decals and the units are ready for weathering.
finally a sd60m received the decals. cp 6260 will be back in the paintshop for some slight weathering and a final coat of flat finish.
installing decoders and couplers will be the last step for all these units. |

Hey Sandro!
Just got back from a small trip to "french" Switzerland yesterday!
Sunday March 4, I was able to spend the day touring 2 train installations in Lausanne with SIMON GINSBURGH. He told me that he knew you! The world is a small place after all !
We went to the "nerve center" of Lausanne and to the switch tower near it. I was also allowed to climb into a loco and tour around the yard with the engineer.
Let me know of your progress with the ROYAL HUDSON as I have worked a bit on one of them. For now, my project has been put asside.

i sure know simon. spent quite a few afternoons with him before he moved to the other end of switzerland. too bad you didn't let me know before. i would have joined you guys. lausanne is approx 2 hours away.
the hudson modification is a bit tricky. the del prado shell needs some heavy sanding inside to make room for the drive. the drive itself needs some sanding as well. currently i have the drive inside the shell but it seems to ride way to high. have to figure out how to lower the loco a bit. |

I did not mention because I taught you were living farther east...
Anyway, I will surely come back some day!
This time, I will let you know, that is for sure!
By the way, we were able to fill up our logages of Cailler's chocolate, like the ones you had sent me.
Do you speak any french, even tought you are on the german-spoken side of Switzerland? |
