good morning......
after receiving a few digitrax decoders i started installing them in several units. a few custom painted sd45, some sd40, a few f40ph. of course i also programmed the newly upgraded engines with decoder pro. after figuring out how to create engine groups in decoder pro i found a few units that were listed with address '3'. huh ?
did i mess up my engine roster or do these engines have wrong cv settings ? no prob. get them out of the drawer, onto the programming track, read all settings. indeed, they all were set to address 3. somehow i forgot to change the settings to 4-digit addressing. no big thing. after less than one hour the programming on all units was corrected.
then it happened. while putting the engines back into their jewel cases one of them , a custom painted gp40, took a dive. straight down to the floor. pilot, handrails, nose are beyond repair. of course i have no spare parts left.
while looking at the unit i noticed another engine with a really poor paint job. i decided to give 3057 , a gp38, a quick new paint job. after disassembling the unit i sandblasted shell, cab, sill, handrails. while i was working on it i decided to do a second gp38 shell. just in case. you never know. yesterday i then decaled 3057 and its new sister unit 3038. of course i do not have all parts to finish the two units.
what else ? - via f40ph 6411 received most of the decals - work on 3 more via f40ph started. |
