besides some work in the garden i also found some time to work on the layout. lots of thinking, trying, rearanging track. after all i was not happy with the engine facility. yesterday i decided to move the whole facility to the city side. several advantages. more space for the engine service area and more space for switching on the main yard. also a special passenger track will be added along the yard. this will give the possibility to run a passenger train without any operator. reverse loop, along the track, another reverse loop. the two necessary turnouts will be controlled by two tam valley decoders and a few reed switches. a train will cross the reed switches and these will "push" the buttons on the controller. should work. but i will build a small proof-of-concept setup.
