powering the track of any model railroad is an essential thing. that's why i added feeders to almost every track joint. of course this means a lot of wiring and work but it is well worth the effort. there's nothing more satisfying than smooth and reliable operation.

on my rather large layout i used hundreds of powered rail joiners. here's how i build them.

first i build a jig by using some wood and short pieces of track. i use peco code 55 flextrack so i had plenty of small pieces left.




next i slide on the peco railjoiners onto the tracks.




add a drop of solder




cut the necessary wires and fire up your soldering tool.




first wires soldered.




after approx 10-15minutes you have quite a bunch of ready to use powered rail joiners.
