work continued on the remaining part of the layout. been building benchwork, glueing down trackbed, installing track. uphill main tracks had to be done first because access will be limited once the downhill trackwork is in place. of course i ran out of glue and screws. as usual. then i ran out of trackfeeders. so fiddling with soldering iron track joiners and wire had to be done first. today trackbed of the downhill route has been glued down. also a few feet of track are in place now.
next big thing will be building the benchwork for the large 270/90 degree curve. 270 degrees to the right, then 90 to the left (downhill). uphill it will be 90 right, 270 left. this part will be free standing in the room. nowhere to attach a few screw. have to figure out a way to make it as stable as possible.
