approx 16'000 scale feet of track has been laid since the last wwr. how much this is ? well :
16'000 feet / 160 = 100 feet = 30m.
- trackwork south-east end of the engine facility in place, ballasted and weathered - return loop of the passenger track runs around the town and back to the main yard now - the return curve from the engine facility to the main yard is in place.
work will continue in the yard area. first i have to figure out the yard laddes will look like. there need to be some stub tracks which will hold switchers and/or cabooses. also the track towards the engine facility should somehow connect to the yard.
here's a first version.
tracks from bottom to top (right edge) : - main 2a - main 2b - stub track for switchers - entry into yard - connection to engine facility - stub track for switchers - main 1b - main 1a - passenger track
the main yard will consist of 11 tracks and should be able to hold 400-500 cars. again, the two bottom tracks are main 2a/b, top 3 tracks are passenger loop and mains 1a/b.
