for some unknown reasons last weeks post seems to be lost in space. sorry bout that. i rewrote that post today and it is online again.
since then i spent lots of time ballasting the mainyard and other parts of the track. not really the kind of work i really like but someone has to do it. so...spreading ballast on the tracks, adding my putty stuff to the rear and front edges of the yards made the area look a lot better than before.
it will take a day or two before the putty completely dried. no more working on the yard for a few days. in the meantime i started work on a few sd40-2f redbard shells. this time they're produced by david bedard (use google !). these shells are 3d-printed but of excellent quality. unfortunately there are no etched parts available yet so i used some blma, kaslo, gmm, miniatures by eric stuff. after drilling over 70 holes in each shell i was ready to install the parts. after adding a light gray coat as primer i painted the shells in cp action red. these units will become 9010, 9014, 9021 in the actual golden rodent paint scheme. stay tuned for progress !
